Special thanks to Lynch resident & retired mine worker, Bob Lunsford!
He's still working in the mines after 40 years of duty ... now he conducts tours !
This historical attraction features the former Lynch L&N Train Depot with locomotive and caboose car. It has the old coal tipple structure, lamp houses and the grand Mine 31 entrance site. The John L. Lewis Memorial and the Mine 31 RV Park is also located on the property. Within just a few short miles from Lynch are many tourist hotspots of interest. These include the Kentucky Coal Mining Museum, Benham School House Inn and Kingdom Come State Park. The highest point in Kentucky (4,139 feet) on Black Mountain is also just around the corner. People that love to fish will enjoy going to nearby Martins Fork Lake, which is the only place in Kentucky home to the Coosa Bass.
